1.1 These terms and conditions of business (the terms) set out the terms on which we supply the services to you.
1.2 Please read these terms before agreeing to register for our services. If you think there is a mistake, or there is something in these terms that you do not understand, please let us know as soon as possible.
1.3 You should read these terms carefully and keep a copy in case you need to refer to them in the future. If at any time while we are providing the services you would like another copy of these terms, please ask us for one.
2.1 When the following words are used in these terms, they have the following meanings:
Account means your account through which you access the services from our website or our mobile app (‘app’).
App means the CredAbility mobile app, which you can download to your compatible mobile device. It allows you to securely access your account.
Services means the following:
- Credit report and credit score: providing you with access to your online credit report and credit score, which we will update every month.
- Shield: providing you with help and tips to learn how to protect yourself against fraud and online security threats, plus this service also scans the email address associated with your CredAbility account to detect if it has been compromised in recorded online data breaches.
- Product offers: providing access to products and, unless you have asked us not to, carrying out checks (with our product providers) using the information you provide to identify whether you are eligible for various credit or other financial services products, before you apply. We will then send you details of any products or offers you are eligible for. If you apply for a product from one of our partner organisations, we may pass your personal information to the other company to help you with your application and save you time.
- Credit coaching and tips: providing you with information, guidance and tips on improving your credit score.
Us, we and our means CredAbility or anyone we transfer our obligations and rights under this agreement to in line with clause 13.6 of these terms.
Site means our website at www.credability.co.uk or the CredAbility mobile app.
You and your means you, the person entering into this agreement.
3.1 CredAbility is a trading style of Intelligent Lending Limited. Intelligent Lending is a limited company registered in England and Wales. The company registration number is 04291279 and the registered office is at Think Park, Mosley Road, Trafford Park, M17 1FQ. Intelligent Lending Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. (Financial Services Register No. 310069. You can check this at https://register.fca.org.uk/)
4.1 Before you sign up for our services, you must register your details and we will check your information. By registering, you agree to these terms of use and our Privacy Policy. (If you do not agree to be bound by these terms of use, you should stop using and/or accessing the our Site). We may decide to refuse to register you for our services and we don’t have to give you a reason if we do this.
4.2 You can only sign up for our services by registering with us. You must be aged over 18 and live in the UK. You can only register, use and access our services on your own behalf, for your own personal use and not on behalf of anyone else. You must not use our services for business purposes or sell them on, republish them or redistribute them. Using the account for business purposes will be a breach of the terms and could result in closure of the account.
4.3 Once you have registered and we have confirmed that we have activated your account, we will start to provide our services. We will continue to provide our services until you or we cancel them in line with these terms.
5.1 Shield is a cyber check service that helps identify if your associated email address registered with us may have been compromised in online data breaches.
5.2 This service is provided free of charge and is part of our core service. You are unable to opt out of this service or communications.
5.3 Shield is available to all CredAbility users. You must download the CredAbility app to be able to view the information.
5.4 We provide this service in partnership with Superlative Enterprises Pty Limited, trading as ‘How have I been pwned’ (HIBP) ABN 62 085 442 02057 Admiralty Drive, Surfers Paradise, QLD 4217 Australia. HIBP monitor and collect this information from various sources, including the dark web, to create their own database of recorded data leaks.
5.5 CredAbility is not responsible or liable for the accuracy of this information or for any decisions that you make based on this information. Monitoring and notifications are provided for information purposes only and nor are we responsible for securing or erasing the information. Shield is not a substitute for appropriate security measures. You remain solely responsible for the security of your email account.
5.6 We will share your email address associated with your account with HIBP.
5.7 HIBP will check your email address against their database to identify whether your personal details have been compromised or are publicly available as a result of an online data security breach.
5.8 We will notify you of any results as per section 7.10 Service Notifications.
5.9 In addition to this service you will have the ability to check any passwords to see if they have been previously exposed in data breaches.
6.1 You can cancel our services at any time by sending us a cancellation request via your account. Alternatively you can email your cancellation request to [email protected]
6.2 Once we have received your request, we will process your cancellation.
6.3 After you have cancelled your account under these terms, you will not have access to our services or your account.
6.4 We can cancel your account or place it on hold if:
- you have not used the services for two months; or
- you use the services in a way which we do not allow, or we have reason to suspect that you are acting fraudulently or have given us inaccurate information.
7.1 We will provide you with an account free of charge which you can use to access our services. This includes logging in to your account to access your online credit reports and credit scores from Equifax Limited (Equifax) and access to offers of relevant products and services. When you buy a product or service through us, or as a result of introducing you to one of our partner organisations, we may receive a fee and /or commission from the provider or the partner organisation.
7.2 Equifax provide the information for all credit reports and credit scores that are provided as part of our services. This may include information about any financial associations you may have (for example, if you have a joint mortgage or joint bank account). While you have an account, we will provide you with monthly updates to your credit report and credit score.
7.3 We are not a credit-reference agency and do not hold information on your credit report or credit score, other than as provided by Equifax. We try our best to make sure that the information we provide to you is as accurate as possible, but we cannot guarantee that it is completely accurate as some of the information comes from various sources (including financial institutions and the electoral roll).
7.4 To provide you with our services, we will carry out a soft credit search every month. When you click on one of our credit/product services, our product provider will record a soft credit search on your credit file. A soft credit search will be invisible to lenders and it won’t affect your credit score.
7.5 We act as a credit broker and not a lender, we search a panel of selected lending partners, which may not cover the whole market for a particular product or service. We will never submit an application on your behalf without your permission.
7.6 We will offer you support with any issues or questions you may have, including logging in to your account or registering for our services. You can do this by contacting us using the contact details given on our website.
7.7 We may monitor your use of our services and your activity to be able to analyse and provide a user experience.
7.8 We will also offer you support on any issues or concerns you may have about the contents of any credit report or credit score. You can ask for this support by contacting us through your account.
7.9 We are not financial advisers or solicitors and cannot (and will not) give you any financial or legal advice.
7.10 Service Notifications: We’ll send notifications about our services and any information that is required to by law to the email address associated with your account. For some services if you have provided a mobile phone number theses notifications may be sent by text.
8.1 You agree to provide true, accurate and current information about yourself when you register for our services. It is also important that you provide us with the correct contact details including email address and should your contact details change at any time to notify us as soon as possible. If any of the information you provide is not true or is inaccurate or out of date, or if we have reason to suspect that any of the information is not true or is inaccurate or out of date, we may decide to suspend or end your use of the services.
9.1 As our services are provided over the internet, we cannot guarantee that our Site and services will always be available. For example, they may not be available as a direct or indirect result of a problem with our computer system or because we are carrying out routine maintenance, or because of issues which we could not predict or which are outside our reasonable control. Or we may withdraw our services if we are concerned that your account is being misused or because you have given us incorrect information.
10.1 Your right to access our services is personal to you. You must not allow any other person to use your account or to access our services using your login details. You must keep your login details confidential and secure, and we suggest that you have the appropriate anti-virus software on any device you use to access our services. If you believe your account is no longer secure, tell us straight away. We have the right to suspend or cancel your access to our services if at any time we believe that someone else is accessing (or is likely to access) our services using your account.
11.1 We will only collect, use and share information from and about you if:
- This is necessary so that we can enter into a contract with you (or fulfil a contract we already have with you);
- You have given us permission to do this;
- We have to do this by law or under any regulations that apply;
- This is necessary to carry out a task which is in the public interest;
- This is necessary to protect your interests; or
- It is in our legitimate interests to do so and is not against your rights.
11.2 The information we will collect from or about you is likely to include the following:
- Your personal details (for example, your name and date of birth)
- Your address
- Your contact details (for example, your phone number and email address)
- Financial information
- Employment information
- Information on how you use our Site, products and services
- ‘Special categories of data’ (as defined by data-protection law). This includes information about your physical or mental health, sexuality, religious beliefs, race or ethnic background, political opinions, trade-union membership or biometric data (that is, computerised details used to identify you through your unique characteristics, for example through fingerprint scanning and facial recognition). We can only use information relating to criminal convictions or offences if this is allowed by law.
11.3 We may use your personal information to do the following:
- If you register to use our services, and have given us permission beforehand, we will get your credit score and credit report from one or more credit-reference agencies on your behalf.
- Consider and process any applications you make for products or services we offer.
- Provide and manage our products and services.
- Share necessary details with companies who provide us with services (for example, credit-reference agencies, printing providers, IT and telephone service providers, banks and financial services companies).
- Prevent and detect crime, including fraud, money laundering and funding terrorism.
- Assess financial and insurance risks.
- Meet the obligations we have by law and under any regulations that apply.
- Help us identify products and services which may be of interest to you and tell you about those products and services by email, phone or text message (unless you have asked us not to).
- Share your information with product providers so that they can assess whether you are likely to be accepted for the product to allow us to make the promotion of products more relevant to you.
- If you decide to apply for a product from one of our partner organisations, we may share your personal information with them to help with your application and to save you time. This may include our partners thinkmoney Limited who offer current accounts, Ocean Finance (another trading name of Intelligent Lending Limited), Financial Wellness Group Limited and the Debt Advisory Centre (a trading name of Gregory Pennington Limited) who offer debt services and advice on money matters.
11.4 Our privacy policy (available on our website at www.credability.co.uk) explains in detail how we will use your personal information and tells you your rights relating to how your personal information can be used.

We may record and monitor phone calls to help us monitor and improve our service.
12.1 We follow our internal complaints procedure, which can be viewed on our website and which is also available on request.
12.2 If you are unhappy with the services we provide, you can complain by:
- sending an email to [email protected]; or
- writing to our Customer Relations Department at the address above.
12.3 We will investigate your complaint within eight weeks and send you a final response telling you our findings. This is in line with our complaints procedure.
12.4 If you are still unhappy after we send you our final response, or if we don’t send you a response within eight weeks, you can complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

13.1 Each of the paragraphs of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority (for example, the Financial Conduct Authority) decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will still be fully effective.
13.2 These terms are between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce them. There may be times when we do not insist that you do something you have agreed to do under these terms. If that happens, it does not mean that you do not have to do those things in future. We can still enforce our rights if you do not do what you agreed at a later time.
13.3 We may change these terms following changes in:
- market conditions that affect us;
- technology;
- the services we offer;
- payment methods;
- relevant laws and regulatory requirements; and
- our system's capabilities.
13.4 If we decide to change the terms, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any changes. We will also give you our reasons for making the changes. If you do not want to accept the changes to the terms, you can cancel your account.
13.5 If we have to contact you or give you written notice under these terms, we will do this by email or by writing to the last address you gave us.
13.6 We can transfer all or any of our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. If this happens, we will always tell you in writing, but this will not affect your rights under these terms, including your right to cancel this agreement at any time. We will do our best to make sure that anyone we transfer our rights and obligations to will provide the service on the same or better terms than these.
13.7 These terms are governed by English law. All communications with you will be in English. You and we both agree that any legal proceedings relating to this agreement will be dealt with by the English courts.
